Introduction
Welcome to BrytaAfrica ("we", "us", "our"). We built BrytaAfrica as a short-form mobile app for reading and listening to African stories. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you use our mobile and web applications.
What we collect
Account information: when you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and profile information. This data is stored securely in our Supabase backend.
Usage data & analytics: we automatically collect analytics data about how you interact with the app - story views, clicks, time spent. We use Mixpanel to track and analyze this usage data in an aggregated and anonymized form.
How we use your information
To provide, maintain, and improve our services. To personalize your experience - customized story feeds, bookmarks, and progress. To analyze usage patterns via Mixpanel and make data-driven improvements.
Third-party and affiliate links
Some stories include links to external resources or affiliate links for purchasing books. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites and recommend you review their privacy policies before providing personal information.
Subscriptions and payment
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. Payment processing is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not directly collect or store your payment card details. We receive subscription status (active, expired, plan type) to provide you with the appropriate access to premium features.
Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. No system is completely secure, and we will tell you promptly if anything changes that.
Children's privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect or store personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have unintentionally collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect when changes were made. If anything changes that is material to how we handle your data, we will tell you in-app and by email.
